Counting Down The Days Until We See You!

Decisions have been complicated in this season when we have had no way of knowing if plans will actually come to fruition. Our decision to go ahead with this year’s conference was made in faith and we are all a little bit surprised to see that it is actually going to happen! We are so looking forward to connecting with you in just days now.

MEET OUR SPEAKERS

David Robinson grew up in London, Ontario. After graduating from Redeemer College University and Mid-America Reformed Seminary, he was called as pastor to Grace Bible Church in Cambridge in 1995. He has served at GBC since then and continues to be thankful for God’s kindness to the GBC church family over the years. David serves on the Canadian Biblical Counselling Coalition Board, speaks in various countries for Carey International Pastoral Training and is the Director of the Graduate Certificate in Biblical Care and Counselling at Heritage College and Seminary in Cambridge.

Glen Slingerland the Executive Director of Insight Biblical Counselling. In addition to leading the ministry, he counsels individuals, couples and families, and supervises the biblical counselling team. Glen has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from Brock University and a Master of Arts in Biblical Counselling from Westminster Theological Seminary. While in Philadelphia, he completed a two-year internship with Harvest USA. Glen worked as a counsellor and counselling director at Elisha House for 12 years. He is a vocational elder in his church and has led a variety of group studies and seminars there as well as at other local churches.

Betty-Anne Van Rees. Fueled by her passion to see the Canadian church convinced and equipped to care for souls through the living Word (both Incarnate and inspired), Betty-Anne serves on the BCC, the Canadian BCC, in counselling and teaching roles at Heritage College and Seminary and in her local church. The roles closest to Betty-Anne’s heart are mom to Laura, Joshua and his wife Jenni, and grandma to Emma and Ethan.

Matt King is the Pastor of Soul Care at Harvest Muskoka. He has a passion for helping hurting people reframe their thinking. His favourite type of biblical counselling approach is the Intensive format, which is a 3 day experience for individuals wanting to experience healing and walking in the fullness of God’s design for them. He recently became the executive director of a Christian non for profit focused on faith-based counselling. When he is not in the counselling room, you can find him with his wife and three children, hopefully watching a rugby game.

Jenn Martin is the founder of Ministry to Women Biblical Counselling and serves on staff as a Biblical Counsellor and Director of Ministry to Women at Calvary Baptist Church, Oshawa Ontario. She is a certified Biblical Counsellor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). Jenn and her husband Greg have 3 adult children and together enjoy family, home roasted coffee, good books and serving the Lord in their local church. You can connect further with Jenn at www.ministrytowomen.com.

Nathan Penny is the Pastor of Soul Care Ministries at Hope Bible Church Oakville, and a CBCC board member. Nathan and his wife Natasha, and their two children, reside in Waterdown Ontario. Nathan’s beard is significantly more impressive these days thanks to the pandemic.
