What was the theme?
Sunday morning connections with our brothers and sisters in Christ, coffee with a friend going through a difficult time, home groups instructing and discipling one another, focused counseling dealing with a specific and immediate crisis … each of these can and should be handled biblically within the local church. How do we equip the entire church to counsel biblically in both daily and more formal counseling opportunities? Let’s talk equipping the church to counsel.

Why were we doing it?
Canadian church leaders strongly desire to counsel those in their congregations and communities in ways that are biblical and practical. This desire has seen a steady increase in biblical counseling within Canada. Founded in 2015, the Canadian Biblical Counseling Coalition exists to further biblical counseling in Canada by creating awareness, equipping leaders, and facilitating connections between Canadians who are counseling biblically.
